The latest member being Mr. Andrew Sturgess who now heads the building company he started over 20 years ago.

He trained originally as a cabinet maker attaining a distinction at Dudley College in The West Midlands. he then moved into joinery and finally building.

The firm started small with only Mr. Sturgess and one employee but over the years has grown into a medium sized company with a workforce numbering 8 to 10.

Originally most of the work involved the renovation and restoration of old cottages but as time went on other aspects of building work were covered. Although most of the work is with older properties, new buildings, extensions and repairs are also undertaken. Barn conversions and extensions onto older properties being undertaken frequently in past years.

Mr. Sturgess is not frightened to take on complicated and specialized work and is often involved with complete ground up re-builds as well as standard work.

The company still has its own Joinery Shop and is able to make bespoke windows, doors, stairs, etc. and if called upon will also manufacture one off kitchens, studies etc. for discerning clients.

Over the years the work carried out by Sturgess & Sturgess has been recognized and articles have appeared in property magazines.

Mr. Sturgess has also been called upon to write specialized articles himself which have appeared in Property Revue etc. Some of these are included in this web-site.

The company has a full range of equipment, from machines to produce special mouldings to diggers, dumpers and specialized site equipment.

All building work can be undertaken from the smallest to the largest by a team of skilled and time-served tradesman.
